on Jan 9th, 2008Job Security

I’m a graphic editor. That’s my basic job title, though ‘IT Support Technician’ is my official title. So, basically I get ads our clients send us, and I make it so they can be used in our system.

Sounds easy.

It’s not. Apparently high paid design firms don’t know the first thing about formating, sizing, commenting out action script (in SWF ads) or anything basic. They also don’t like to share their information - leaving it up to me to sift through and try and figure out how to fix it.

So, I regularly have a vast pile of designs waiting for me to make Yahoo compliant or ready compressed or animation to stop and so on .. not very easy.

Some people here think it should be simple.

So, I went from 5 projects (down from 27 two weeks ago) to 14 projects (oh, two more just came to my inbox!) in .. two days.

It’s job security, right?
