on Jan 15th, 2008Job - A dragon in the Bible? For real?
I love the passage of Job 41. It’s so … inspiring. Not like “God loves me” inspiring but more imagination inspiring. The possibility that there may be or have been real dragons. Go read it - give me your thoughts. Some think it could be a crocodile or a whale .. but it talks about breathing fire so that nix either. Also talks about strength of his arms - so forget whale, and his graceful form - so forget crocs (they’re REALLY not graceful).
So read it. Even if you don’t believe in the Bible - it’s an interesting read anyway! And then give me your thoughts on what it COULD be.
it also says in verse 25 that “When he rises up……” crocs also cant raise up.

it is definetly a dragon, and animals do have the ability to breath fire. there is a small beetle in Asia that can produce fire by the chemicals reacting within its body. dragons are a definite possibility.
Yeah, I knew about the beetle - but you don’t see very many LARGE animals or insects that can breathe fire - or even come close. So dragon was probably the closest thing that could be guessed. Some said maybe a t-rex … but I don’t think so since it talks about powerful limbs and a t-rex doesn’t have powerful limbs .. jaw and back legs, yes … but those little arms? No.
Dragons are NOT legends nor myths! Dragons have more historical documentation than “dinosaurs” that don’t have any! Dragons also have LOADS of fossils to back them up for the plain & simple reason that since evolutionary highpriest Darwin started preaching, evolutionary religionists sponsored by Freemasons & New World Order Illuminists, hijacked our Dragon bones since 1875 & falsely re-christened them as scientifically correct “dinosaur fossils!” Of all things! Evilutionists even supplied these mythical Dinos with a 65 million year old myth that they were all supposed to have died out in a selective disaster that didn’t even kill off the more sensitive other “branches” of the legendary “evolution tree!” BALONEY! BOVINE EXCREMENT! There is no archeological proof of such a feat, on the contrary… PEOPLE NOT VERY LONG AGO DID OBSERVE, SEE & FIGHT DRAGONS! Some were even eaten alive by them!

and beetles don’t actually spit fire your thinking starship troopers.The chemical compounds released in the abdomen of the beetle cause a reaction the two chemicals combined create makes the chemicals searing like hmmmmmm whats i like again …………. oh yeah a really hot liquid >< not actual fire still quite very painful even causes blisters o wow nope don’t see no skin singed or falling off
@Xelex: The argument that a lot of people present is regarding the beetle that, as you said, shoots the acidic liquid. If the beetle injected the liquids incorrectly, it would POP and explode. Basically they’re saying that if evolution was the factor of where we originate, creatures such as this beetle would go extinct before it even came to be since, according to the evolutionist theory, would have to perfect that acid-reflex over the millions of years and obviously would explode into oblivion.
However, the argument is silly since a lot of evolutionists who argue against this method say “Oh well, they just evolve the knowledge and learn from the other beetles mistakes”. Which sounds ridiculous. That means one beetle will tell another beetle how much fluid it’s about to squirt so that if it blows up, the next beetle can figure out where he/she/it went wrong.
Silly silly.
And I know you’re not trying to argue the fact - just point out a misinformed comment. I was just throwing in my less than two cents.
If you read the whole bible from start to finish you will find that there are dragons, dinosaurs, and unicorns in the bible. It talks about lions alot. Maybe because lions are king of the jungle.
@Moody30ish: It’s not an issue of the existance of lions - there is obvious proof today that lions exist. Nor is it an issue of dinosaours. It’s dragons. Job I believe is a complete description of a dragon.
You also need to realize that a lot of times when the Bible talks about a dragon it’s usually not in a literal term. As well as many places where it speaks of lions - except obvious places like Daniel and the Lion’s Den.
However, I do agree - there is more things in the Bible suchs a dragons that people don’t realize, or don’t understand and explain it away.
