I have mixed feelings about this movie. On one hand, Iron Man is a pretty cool Batman-esque character. What I mean is he had no real powers, just a lot of money and gadgets galore. Of course I don’t believe that Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) was an orphan … but I haven’t read his back-story yet.

However, one thing I KNOW about Tony Stark from the comics is he’s one heck of a ladies man. And I have to be honest, Robert Downey Jr. just doesn’t strike me as a ladies man. I see him more of … hmm, creepy drug addict. That’s what I see him as. I honestly have yet seen a movie with him in it that was good.

Of course I’ll go see the movie. I just don’t expect much yet …

I was watching some videos on YouTube by TruthTank.com - and while I dont’ completely agree with some of their beliefs they have a strong heart for God. Some very interesting things on there.

But then I saw a link for a video questioning the very existence of God, and some links to their websites that very much encourage atheists to insult and beat down on any Christian of anyone who believes in God in general, whether its Christian, Mormon, Islamic or any other religion that believes in a god.

There was a forum where they encourage ‘discussion’ on your beliefs, and after reading through (and seeing 90% of the Christians [or even religious people] on there had no clue how to properly debate) I thought I would throw in my hat and see if I could be a reasonable voice. I’m pretty decent at forum debating.

But then my buddy Henrik sent me this verse:

Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult. Whoever rebukes a wicked person incurs abuse. Do not rebuke a mocker or they will hate you. Rebuke a wise person and they will love you.
Proverbs 9:7-8 [NIV]

And I stopped in my tracks. I look at the verse (he just happened to have it in his clipboard from an earlier response to someone) and I decided: no point. These people are mocking God and the Word. They’re hopeless and have no real point. They’re squashing truly free thought by calling anyone who thinks other than themselves are delusional (yes, they literally said that).

I closed the browser, my heart no longer pounding in what I felt as ‘righteous anger’ and decided to ‘walk away’.

I mentioned how anytime you bring a verse to them from the Bible in response to their insults they would say (hypothetically) “you have no answers to our questions except for another lame answer from an archaic book” and Henrik sagely responded “They have no real answer, they just dig into their hat of unoriginal sarcasm ”

Henrik is smart.

First of all, let me say - I’m not a Bush-lover. Really I’m not. As far as presidents go, he’s … not my favorite. Reagan, Lincoln … but Bush really isn’t on that list.

However, I don’t think he’s the worst by far. We’ve had some really crap presidents in the past. Bush, while has a lot of faults, isn’t an Axis of Evil (as Rosie O’Donnell has called him, Cheney and Rove).

I’m kind of tired of the continual Bush bashing. Listen, the guy is about done in the office. We’ll get a new president and you can be unhappy with him/her. If it’s Clinton, I’ll be very disappointed. Not because she’s a woman, but because she’s Bill’s wife. For some reason it’s like giving ol’ Bill another shot at being the president. Obama .. well, I have no real say in him. I don’t agree with a lot of his beliefs. McCain - well, he might as well be a Democrat for all he says and backs.

Then again, I’m not for one party or the other. I may vote third party this time. Give the ‘little guy’ my backing. I hear the Constitution Party is going to back Ron Paul. That may be a good way to go. Or maybe the Libertarian Party.

The next installment of the Chronicles of Narnia stories is Prince Caspian. Admittedly not my favorite of the books, it is still a good story. I’m a bigger fan of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader - which will be out next year in theaters.

However, this year we get treated to Prince Caspian.

In theaters May 16th 2008.

I’m freakin excited. And Warwick Davis is Nikabrik. That’s awesome.
